Abstract

1404470 Photographic material containing a resorcinol EASTMAN KODAK CO 14 Sept 1972 [16 Sept 1971] 42717/72 Heading G2C A photographic material comprises a support bearing at least one layer containing a non- diffusible resorcinol which combines with an oxidized silver halide developing agent to form a non-diffusible substantially colourless product. The resorcinol may have the formula: where R is a group containing at least 8 C selected from alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkoxy, substituted alkoxy, alkylcarbamyl, alkylcarbonamido, arylcarbonamido and aralkylcarbonamido. The material may contain at least one layer comprising a photographic silver halide emulsion. The material may contain at least one colour coupler, in which case it may form part of a photographic diffusion transfer assemblage also comprising a dye imagereceiving layer, a reservoir containing an alkaline processing composition, and an aromatic primary amino silver halide colour developing agent. The resorcinol may be present in any layer of the photographic material including the imagereceiving sheet.
