Abstract

1404049 Fluid operated actuators GEC ELLIOTT MECHANICAL HANDLING Ltd 6 Nov 1973 [6 Nov 1972] 50979/72 Heading F1D An actuator for producing a rotary output comprises a piston 3, Fig. 1, connected to an output shaft 8 by links 6 and lugs 3a, 8a. The cylinder 2 and housing 1 are in communication. One or other of connections 23, 24 is connected to a source of pressure fluid at approximately 750 p.s.i. whilst the other connection is connected to a higher pressure to produce motion of the piston. Fig. 5 (not shown), illustrates a control circuit for the actuator. The actuator may operate a valve, either directly through a splined or keyed shaft, or through a gear-box.
