Abstract

1475144 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 9 May 1975 [13 May 1974] 21133/74 Heading G3P [Also in Division G5] An hydraulic oscillator comprises a swash-plate pump 10 having means for cyclically altering the angle of the swash-plate 12 about its neutral position so as to cyclically reverse the direction of the pump output fluid and of a load carrying member 20 driven thereby, e.g. at a frequency of 8-50 Hz. Member 20 may oscillate a diaphragm in a wave making or noise generating device, e.g. for simulating the noise of a ship in mine countermeasure apparatus. Swash-plate 12 bears on pistons 14 contained in a rotatably driven body 11 and is cyclically adjusted by a double acting piston and cylinder servomotor 26 cyclically supplied with actuating liquid via lines 36, 36a by a valve 37. The latter is supplied with a pre-programmed electrical signal pattern. Negative feedback devices 39, 40 monitor the position of servomotor 26 and load member 20 respectively. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) the latter may be of rotary vane type.
