Abstract

1403935 Cleaning cloths BARANNE 30 March 1973 [30 March 1972] 15315/73 Heading A4F [Also in Division D1] Cleaning cloths, each comprising a non-woven fabric support impregnated with an anti-static film depositing cleaning composition, are manufactured by applying viscous cleaning composition to surface recesses in a rotating roller, and bringing a non-woven fabric web into contact with the rotating roller 15 impregnate the web with the composition in the recesses. The non-woven support may be made from a mixture of paper paste, cellulose fibres, or viscose, and a binder such as latex, and the cleaning composition may contain silicone and mineral oils, detergent, and synthetic wax. Non-woven fabric web drawn from a coil 1 and guided by rollers 3, 10 is engaged with the recessed surface of an engraved intaglio roller 4, the surface recesses of which receive viscous impregnating composition from a bath 6 via a roller 5, the surplus composition being removed by a flexible metal scraper 8. The rotary speed of the roller 4 is variable by a mechanism 9 to vary the rate of impregnation.
