Abstract

1401866 Wheelchairs W MEYER [trading as WILHELM MEYER] 9 Nov 1972 [22 Sept 1972] 51740/72 Heading B7B In a wheelchair having arm rests 13 located above a seat member 11, a backrest 12 is displaceably located over a predetermined range by means of at least one fluid pressure device 14, in the form of a cylinder and a piston reciproeatable therein pivotally secured at its ends 20, 19 to the frame 10 and back rest 12 which pivots on an axle 15 on the frame. The pad of each arm rest 13 is pivotally connected to the backrest 12 and is displaceably and pivotally retained on a frame member 22 by means of a sleeve 27. Both arm rests may be connected to a pivot lever (not shown) which is mounted on the frame. The frame is preferably collapsible.
