Abstract

1365348 Adjustable vehicle seats VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd 7 Dec 1972 [16 Dec 1971] 58395/71 Heading A4J A vehicle seat with an adjustable contour has a plurality of seat and backrest squabs, 14, 16 and 18, 20 respectively, which are independently adjustable about a common axis A-A'. Each squab e.g. 14 is mounted on an associated subframe, e.g. 36, each sub-frame being pivotally mounted on a common support rod which forms the axis A-A' and being rotated about the axis by rotation of a double screw jack lifting device, e.g. 38, connected to the sub-frame by arms e.g. 56. In a second embodiment Fig. 5 (not shown) the axis A-A' is at the front of the seat. A parallelogram rod linkage may be used to move the sub-frame about the axis.
