Abstract
1400476 Roller guides REALID GES ZUR REALISIERUNG TECHNISCHER IDEEN mbH 21 Sept 1972 43815/72 Heading B3M A roller guide, for twisting rolled stock as it passes between two roll sets or stands of a mill, incorporates a pair of partly tapered rollers 7 and 8 mounted in a housing with their axes lying in a common plane set at an adjustable angle to the vertical. The.rollers are supported in a pair of discs 4 and 5, Fig. 2, which can be rotated in the walls of the housing to adjust the inclination of the plane and hence the angle of twist imparted to the stock. The discs are coupled together by bolts 18a, and are adjustable by a turnbuckle 12 to move the rollers. An inlet guide 11 directs the rolled stock into the housing from a pair of rolls 13 and 14, and is adjustably fixed to the housing. The rollers can be carried in cantilever fashion in a single disc, in place of being mounted between two discs, only one of the housing walls 1 and 2, Fig. 2, then being required.
