Abstract

1400406 Carpet protectors M P HARVEY and A J HARVEY 25 Aug 1972 [28 May 1971] 18158/71 Heading A4U Protection for a fitted carpet while the walls of a room are being decorated comprises a set of shields each consisting of a heat-moulded or extruded strip of plastics which is angled or bowed transversely to provide two limbs 2, 4 and a lip 6 at the free edge of the limb 4. The shields are laid in abutting or overlapping relation between an edge of the carpet and an adjacent wall with the lips, which preferably have a sharp free edge, inserted beneath the skirting board. Reinforcing ribs, cutting guide lines, and apertures for passage of fixing pins may be provided.
