Abstract

1400350 Curing epoxy resins DEUTSCHE TEXACO AG 27 Dec 1973 [30 Dec 1972] 59763/73 Heading C3B Cured products are obtained by reacting an epoxy resin with 0À03-1 mole per epoxide equivalent of 1,3,6,8-tetraaza-tricyclo[4,4,1<SP>1,6</SP>. 1<SP>3,8</SP>]dodecane (I). Curing may take place at 0-250‹ C. and may be in the presence of compounds which react with formaldehyde to form resins, e.g. phenol, urea, melamine or a ketone or in the presence of reaction products of formaldehyde therewith. Reaction may also take place in the presence of a polyhydric alcohol, e.g. ethylene glycol. I may also be used in conjunction with known epoxy resin hardeners, e.g. polycarboxylic anhydrides or polyamines.
