Abstract
1289771 Epoxy resins CIBA-GEIGY AG 15 Jan 1970 [24 Jan 1969] 2109/71 Heading C3B [Also in Division C2] Epoxy resins are obtained by curing a diglycidyl ether of the general formula wherein Z 1 and Z 2 each denote a nitrogen-free divalent residue which completes a 5- or 6- membered, unsubstituted or substituted, heterocyclic ring; A represents a divalent aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or araliphatic residue, X 1 , X 2 , Y 1 and Y 2 each denote a hydrogen or a methyl group and m and n each denote 0 or an integer 1-30, the sum of m and n being at least 1, with a conventional curing agent for epoxy resins. In the examples the glycidyl ether of 1,1<SP>1</SP>- methylene - bis - (3 - # - hydroxyethyl - 5,5 - dimethylhydantoin) is cured by heating with hexahydro-phthalic anhydride.
