Abstract

1377887 Curing epoxy resins REICHHOLDALBERT-CHEMIE AG 5 July 1973 32162/73 Heading C3B A curable composition comprises (I) a diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A and/or a glycidyl ether of an aliphatic polyol and as curing agent (II) a Schiff base in which n = 3-11. II is present at 15-40 molar per cent based on the epoxide oxygen in I. Tertiary amines, quaternary ammonium compounds and halides or organic compounds Ti, Al, Sn, Zn, B, Sb or Fe may additionally be present as curing accelerators. The compositions are capable of curing in water or on wet surfaces when II decomposes to yield an aliphatic di-primary amine.
