1399337 Locating end stops in latches G L TURNER 1 Jan 1973 [6 Oct 1971] 46519/71 Heading B3B An accessory for locating an end stop (not shown) in the hollow mandrel 17 of a lathe comprises a central rod 2 extending through a tube 1 and projecting at both ends, a hand wheel 6 threaded on one end 5 of the rod 2 and rotatable thereon to move the tube and rod relatively, a resilient gripping element 12 through which the other end of the rod passes and a socket member 13 fast on the end of the rod and having locking means such as screw 16 for locking the end stop in the socket. The arrangement is such that relative longitudinal movement of the rod and tube by rotation of the hand wheel compresses the element 12 longitudinally so that it expands radially to grip the mandrel 17.
