139,924. Addy, G. April 15, 1919. Foot-rests or boards for motor-cycles comprise a pair of plates of which the lower is attached to the machine and the upper is spring-supported upon the lower. As shown, the lower plate A is attached to the motor-cycle by an arm Land clips and cross-stems J, K; the upper plate C or footboard proper is hinged at the front B to the lower plate and spring-supported at the rear upon this plate by helical springs E upon studs D which slide through holes in the lower plate and carry nuts or stops D<2>. Rubber matting G is held in position by rolled-over edges F on the plate C, and the edges of the lower plate A are rolled over a wire H. The hinge B may be replaced by springs, and the base-plate may be capable of angular adjustment in relation to the attaching- means. According to the Provisional Specification. the lower end of the base-plate may be fitted with a tubular housing to receive a spindle carried bv the attachment arm, means, such as a nut on the spindle, being provided for locking the plate to the spindle.
