Abstract

1398777 Tape cable connectors LOCKHEED AIRCRAFT CORP 12 June 1972 27439/72 Heading H2E A connector for tape cables 12, 14, 16, 18 comprises an insulating board 34 with terminal pins 36, the cable conductors each being fitted with a respective terminal, which may be an eyelet 26, 32, located over a respective pin 36, the latter being mounted on the board 34 in groups 36a, 36b, 36c, 36d corresponding to the positions of the conductor terminals. A programmed circuit board 44 is provided with apertured terminal pads 48 or sockets which mate with the pins 36 to interconnect selected pads 48 by means of printed circuit conductors 50. A compression pad 54 is placed on the circuit board 44 with the pins 36 projecting into terminal sockets 56 in the pad. Overlying the pad 54 are a retainer plate 58 and a cover plate 62, retaining screws 60 acting between the cover plate and board 34. Each pin 35 comprises a stem 40 surrounded at its base by a flange 42. A further embodiment, (Fig. 3, not shown), shows a box (408) fitted with a lid (410) having openings (432) aligned with the sockets 56 and adapted to receive the pins (426) of a programmed plug (420), the pins being selectively interconnected by circuit means (428) within the plug, such as jumper wires.
