Abstract

1398572 Refractory lining HOGANAS AB 12 May 1972 [14 May 1971 27 Dec 1971] 22510/72 Heading C1J Fired bricks for refractory linings and finished refractory linings based upon SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 and/or aluminium silicate are impregnated with colloidal silica of particle size up to 30 nm to prevent attack by basic slags. The refractory lining may be made by casting or ramming a refractory mass or by using bricks and mortar. In the latter case, some colloidal silica is preferably added to the mortar before building the lining, the surface of the joints in the lining being impregnated with more collodial silica suspension after drying and then being dried again to remove the water from the suspension.
