Abstract

1280295 Refractory compositions FOSECO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 8 Jan 1970 [8 Jan 1969] 1121/69 Heading C1J The head metal of a casting is thermally insulated by wholly or partly surorunding it with a lining of particulate or fibrous refractory and carbonized polyacrylonitrile which may also be fibrous. The polymer is defined as one having acrylonitrile as the main component. Specified refractories are sand, zircon, Al 2 O 3 , olivine, chamotte, coke, asbestos, slag wool and Ca or Al silicate fibre. Paper or wood pulp are optional as are SiO 2 sol Œ a water soluble P compound, and AlPO 4 .
