Abstract
1397911 Inertia switches SEALECTRO CORP 20 Aug 1973 [13 Dec 1972] 39338/73 Heading H1N A pendulum comprising a conductive suspension 14 and metal bob 16 is secured to a hollow cylindrical container 10 such that the suspension 14 forms one of the switch terminals while a knife-edge 18 on the bob 16 co-operates with a serrated inner surface of an annular contact ring 25; a conductive tube 23 connected to ring 25 forms the other terminal of the switch, and a viscous fluid in the container 10 covers the pendulum bob 16 and contact ring 25. Preferably the container is of plastics material, the suspension 14 comprises a beryllium copper wire, and the container 10 is filled with silicone oil via the tube 23 which is then sealed by a plug (27, Fig. 2, not shown) of self-setting plastics material.
