Abstract
1281652 Inertia-actuated switches DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 3 Feb 1970 [4 Feb 1969] 5204/70 Heading H1N In a vibration sensitive switch at least one contact 4 or 10, Fig. 2, is formed of a plastically deformable material whereby the contact bounce energy is absorbed. In examples the contact may be of tin or an alloy containing tin with 1 to 3% of antimony or with silver or gold. Alternatively a contact may be of aluminium or an electrically conductive synthetic plastics material. Alternatively a thin layer of silver or gold may be applied to a deformable backing of lead or a synthetic plastics material. The device may be used in a detonator for a grenade or mine in which a battery 7 is first filled with a caustic potash solution and forced forward under pressure from a position, Fig. 1 (not shown), in which the movable contact 4 is positively located at 5 by a deformable ring 8 and released to the vibration sensitive position shown in whch the movable contact 4 is supported on the terminals 7 by a coil spring 5. The fixed contact 2 carries a plastically deformable projection 9 of tin engageable with the walls of a recess 10 in the movable contact 4.
