Abstract

1397895 Doctor blade holder LODDING ENG CORP 15 June 1973 [26 June 1972] 28626/73 Heading D2A A doctor blade or scraper holder comprises a rocker plate 30 held within a first compartment 26A e.g. by a bolt 35 which projects through an aperture 36 in the plate. Resilient means 32 abuts partition 38 so as to cause the plate 30 to abut jaw lip 18. A doctor blade 13 projects into a second compartment 26B and may, as shown, be provided with spring clips 40 to retain the blade 13 in its working attitude when out of contact with a roll 12. Alternatively (Figure 2, not shown) the blade abuts a base plate (59) which engages any one of a number of opposed notches within the lower compartment so as to allow the "stickout" of the blade to be adjusted. The resilient means 32 may be a closed elongate tube of plastics containing non-compressible fluid and may be protected by highly flexible fibres e.g. stainless steel braid.
