Abstract

Nonapeptides (I) and their salts. H-(Pyr)-Glu-His-Trp-Ser-A1-Gly-A2-Arg-Pro-Y (I) (where A1 is Tyr or Phe; A2 is Leu, Ile, Val, N val, Met or Phe; Y is NHR or pyrrolidino and R is 1-3C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl). Ovulation stimulators, having low toxically. The Zn salts have esp. prolonged activity. By standard methods for forming amide links in peptide chemistry esp. by reacting a deriv. of H-(Pyr)Glu-His-Trp-Ser-A1-GlyOH with a deriv. of H-A2-Arg-ProY. Cpds. (I) where A1 is Tyr, A2 is Leu and Y is NHMe, NHEt, NHCH2CH2OH, NMe3, NHisoPr and pyrrolidino; A1 is Phe, A2 is Ile and Y is Nle and Y is NHEt and A1 = Tyr, A2 is Met and Y is NHEt.
