Abstract

1397853 Metal coated graphite SIEMENS AG 27 June 1973 [8 Sept 1972] 30709/73 Heading C1A [Also in Division H1] A heat resistant gas impermeable carbon body is made by applying an intermediate layer of rhenium to the surface of a gas permeable carbon body and then fusing to the rhenium layer an outer layer of a metal having a melting point below 2000‹ C. The outer layer is preferably of Cu, Ag or Au or an alloy thereof.
