Abstract

1397357 Dividing articles from one stream into two streams side-by-side E BAUER 23 Oct 1973 [2 Nov 1972] 49245/73 Heading B8A Articles 1 on a track 12 are divided into two streams on respective tracks 13, 14, by the action of toothed rotors 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, each tooth of which carries an additional article guiding member 4 (or 4<SP>1</SP>, in the case of the rotor 2<SP>1</SP>). Each member 4 is pivotally mounted on its associated rotor tooth and has a respective operating arm the other end of which carries a guide roller 7 which moves in a cam track 8 (or 8<SP>1</SP>, in the case of the members 4<SP>1</SP>). In operation each successive article is engaged between a flat face 9 of a member 4 and a recessed portion of the member 4<SP>1</SP> on the opposite side of the track. The articles in this way are guided successively into the recesses of the rotors 2 and 2<SP>1</SP> in alternation.
