Abstract

1396567 Rotary positive-displacement machines DAIMLER-BENZ AG 5 Oct 1972 [9 Oct 1971] 45994/72 Heading F1F [Also in Division F4] In a trochoidal-type I.C. engine individual flow-paths for liquid coolants at two different temperatures e.g. 75 and 130‹C, and lubricating oil serving as a coolant are provided in housing peripheral and end parts 1, 17. In the part 1 the path for the coolest coolant comprises an inlet channel 12, chamber 11 circumjacent a sparkplug aperture 8, and outlet channel 13, and that for the hottest coolant comprises an inlet channel 15, chamber 14 surrounding an exhaust port 7, and an outlet channel 16. In the part 17 the path for the coolest coolant has an inlet channel 21, chamber 18 and outlet channel 22, and that for the hottest coolant comprises an inlet channel 23, chamber 19 containing fins 27, and outlet channel 24. The remainder of the part 17 is cooled by lubricating oil flowing therethrough from the bearing of the rotor 4 to an aperture 26. The channels 12, 13, 15, 16, 24 are axially aligned and in communication with channels 21, 22, 23, 28, 25, respectively.
