Abstract

1396078 Combine harvesters MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR AG 28 June 1973 [30 June 1972] 30734/73 Heading A1F The pivoted cutting platform 3 of a combine harvester is raised or lowered by at least one hydraulic jack 5 according to the setting of a valve 13 which is operated in response to electrical signals generated by one or more strain gauges 9 which are mounted on one or more resilient crop raisers 7. Bending forces are transmitted from the front end of the crop raiser(s) to the gauges and thence via a logic system amplifier 11 to operate the valve, e.g. by electromagnets 7. Crop raiser deflection is dampened to prevent gauge damage. A manual override button is provided.
