Abstract

1394624 Percussive tools LOSENHAUSEN MASCHINENBAU AG 15 June 1973 [25 July 1972] 28660/73 Heading B4C A ramming or tamping machine comprises an internal combustion diesel engine 10 mounted on the machine casing 16, 65 and driving via a crank drive disposed in the casing a spring mounted ramming tool 66. The engine 10 has an output shaft 12 carrying a fan 14 and flywheel 11 and drives via a clutch 20 an intermediate shaft 26 having a pinion 38. The pinion 38 drives a gear-wheel 40 on a crankshaft 42. A connecting rod has one end 51 mounted on a throw 48 of the crank-shaft, has a central opening 52 through which the shaft 26 freely passes, and has its lower end 54 connected to a frame 56 consisting of upper and lower members 61, 62 and parallel rods 63. The rods 63 are slidable in bearings 64 on the casing 65 and in bearings 69 on a further casing 67 carrying the tool 66. Springs 70, 71 are located between the upper wall 68 of the casing 67 and the members 61, 62 of the frame 56. Bellows 72 connect the casings 65, 67 and the casing 67 is filled with oil which is pumped by the member 62 through an aperture 73 in the wall 68 to lubricate the bearings.
