Abstract
1394617 Apparatus for spraying metal surfaces with cleaning or corrosion coating solution NIPPON PAINT CO Ltd 27 Dec 1972 [24 Dec 1971] 59683/72 Heading C7E and C7U Metal surfaces are sprayed with e.g. degreasing agents or phosphating, chromating or oxalate solutions by passing articles 11 along an overhead conveyor 12 through a spray chamber 13. The articles are rinsed with water in the chamber, and the rinse water is returned through the treatment stations and removed as vapour. As shown, nozzles 14A to 14E spray degreaser, water zinc phosphating solution, water, and acid solutions respectively, the solutions returning to tanks 16A to 16E. The tanks may be heated and provided with liquid level gauges which may actuate magnetic valves. Excess water is removed as vapour through ducts 30A, 30C. The ducts may be forked Fig. 2, (not shown). Plates 32A, 32C prevent liquid from the chemical solutions being withdrawn. The water is condensed into reservoirs 36, 36<SP>1</SP>, and reused. Fresh air may be introduced through ducts 33A to 33E. In a modification Fig. 3, (not shown) the water instead of overflowing is returned by spraying.
