Abstract

1394436 Mixing apparatus FREDERICK PARKER LTD 24 Aug 1973 [8 Sept 1972] 41723/72 Heading B1C A mixer comprises a mixing chamber 1 with a paddle mixing assembly 2 mounted therein including a driven rotary shaft 3 which carries arms 4, each having at its outer end a mixer blade 5 disposed obliquely with respect to the direction of motion of the arm wherein each of the arms is of a flat elongate shape with its widest faces 4a disposed obliquely with respect to the direction in which the arm rotates at substantially the same angle as the mixer blade. The arms are in pairs radially opposed to each other with adjacent pairs being at right angles to each other. Preferably the arms have a parallelogram cross-section. Alternatively each arm is curved at it side margins to form a knife edge at each side of the blade. As shown there are two rotary shafts having arms and blades thereon.
