1394180 Display stands; furniture frames and joints; cabinets; modular furniture units BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 27 July 1972 [31 Aug 1971] 40542/71 Headings A4B A4H A4U A module for use in erecting display structures see Fig. 5 (not shown), comprises a base unit 1 which has attached at each end perpendicular attachment members 2, 3, each attachment member comprising first and second plates 4, 5 or 4a, 5a attached to one another but spaced apart by a distance A substantially equal to the thickness of the plates and partially overlapping by a distance A, whereby two modules can be placed together with the longitudinal axes of their base units perpendicular, and the first and second plates 4, 5 at one end of one module in contact with and perpendicular to the first and second plates 4a, 5a at one end of the other module, see Fig. 6. The base unit 1 may include shelf supports 6, 7. The module may be made in one piece from wood or plastics. A connector comprising two plates (12, 13) Figs. 7, 8 (not shown), spaced apart by a distance A can be joined at both its ends to a module.
