Abstract

The forming block used in the assembly of a frame used to support shelving or for the fabrication of cabinet furniture, is a cube with a hollow face. The face is fitted with a central panel. This panel is bored and tapped to take the screwed end of a shelf support or an upright. A number of different fixings are described in place of the screwed connection. The cube may be made of two interlocking parts to ease the assembly of the framework. The method enables a single design of connector to be used in any part of the shelving.
