1393978 Thread supply; yarn storage feeders GUSTAV MEMMINGER [trading as GUSTAV MEMMINGER VERFAHRENSTECHNIK FUR DIE MASCHENINDUSTRIE 20 Dec 1972 [23 Dec 1971] 58702/72 Headings D1C D1E and D1J In a yarn storage feeder the yarn is taken through an axial bore, wound on a stationary cage by a winding eye 20, moved along the bars of the cage by a set of wobbling rods 16, then pulled off through a free-running thread guide 24 which rides round a T-section track 22, and finally passes through a fixed eye 28. Fluid may be applied to the yarn by feeding it from a supply 32 through a pipe 31 into a groove 30 in the inside of the track 22. A sensing device may stop and start the winding-on drive to maintain the yarn store within specified limits. The advancing rods 16 are held by non-rotating elastic discs 15, 17 which are mounted on eccentrics 13, 12 so that when the shaft 7 rotates each rod in turn protrudes between adjacent fixed bars 3 of the cage in a wobbling or tumbling movement. In a modification Fig. 3 (not shown) the thread guide and track arrangement may be used to take yarn off a spool (50), or two yarns may be pulled off simultaneously, if two were wound on originally. The weight of the thread guide 24 may be increased to increase the tension in the yarn.
