Abstract

A method of feeding a filament to a machine that requires said filament, comprising: guiding the filament in a first direction, from a supply thereof, to a position next to an end of a drum fixedly mounted with respect to a member of frame; winding said filament around said drum, adjacent said first end thereof, forming a plurality of turns advancing in a second direction, opposite said first direction, towards the other end of said drum; removing said rolled filament in said second direction, to said other end of said drum, and reversing the direction of movement of said filament at said other end and passing said inverted filament through a passage, internally to said drum, and through an opening in said frame member, whereby said filament moves in said first direction, towards said machine.
