Abstract

1391197 Keyboards ADDRESSOGRAPH MULTIGRAPH CORP 20 April 1972 [23 April 1971] 18477/72 Heading G4H [Also in Division B6] An encoding keyboard comprises keystems 40a co-operating with interposers 20 through leafsprings 52 to prevent a repeat power action. The leafspring 52 includes a projection 58 which engages a shoulder 31 on the interposer on depression of the key to bring the interposer into contact with a filter shaft 34. As the interposer is driven leftwardly by the filter shaft 34, the projection 58 slips off the shoulder 31 such that on return of the interposer while the key remains depressed, the leafspring is deflected by the edge of the shoulder 31. Some keys may be depressible to a greater extent so that engagement of the projection 58 on the top surface of the interposer adjacent the shoulder 31 holds the interposer in operative position with respect to the filter shaft to permit repeat impressions. The interposers 20 act on bails (19, Fig. 2, not shown), to close switch contacts in code combinations.
