Abstract
1390508 Electro-priming PRESSED STEEL FISHER Ltd 19 June 1972 [18 June 1971] 28676/71 Heading C7B A vehicle body is primed by spray priming the body e.g. with epoxy primer, partially curing the sprayed primer e.g. by air drying or stoving, electro-priming the body preferably immersed only up to just above the level of the wings to coat at least those regions of the underpart of the body vulnerable to corrosion but inaccessible to spray priming, preferably rinsing with demineralized water, and then stoving the primed body e.g. at 320‹F. Prior to priming, the body may be alkali cleaned, phosphated and dried. The primed body may be sprayed first with an undercoat prior to stoving, then after, with two coats of alkyd top coat.
