Abstract

1389696 Injection moulding GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 20 June 1972 [2 Aug 1971] 28826/72 Heading B5A [Also in Divison H2] A coating 6<SP>1</SP> of conductive elastomer is applied to mandrels 10, 11 and to an electrical contact 7, and a connector housing of insulating elastomer is formed by injecting plastic material through a nozzle 13 into a two-part mould 9, the mandrels 10, 11 producing a passageway through the housing. The coating 6<SP>1</SP> becomes bonded to the housing and after the mandrels 10, 11 have been withdrawn it forms an electrostatic shield (6, Fig. 1, not shown) around part of the passageway.
