Abstract

1389517 Racks ARCAN EASTERN Ltd 2 May 1973 [3 May 1972] 20850/73 Heading A4B [Also in Division E2] A connector for detachably securing a load supporting member 40 to a channelled post 42 having a central recess 22 in a web 12 and apertures 34 in facing edges comprises a plate having spaced parallel flanges 44,46 inter-connected by a web 48, and projections 52 bent inwardly along one edge, the projections being engageable in the apertures 34. The connector is described as being applicable to a pallet rack shown in Fig. 1. Each projection 52 is formed by removing a U-shaped portion from the post and then inwardly deforming the resulting projections at its upper tapering connecting portion 62. Each projection has walls 64,66 at right angles, the wall 66 being wider than the wall 64 to resist torsional loads of the member 40. The connector may have a single projection or more than two. The invention also comprises components of a dismountable structure consisting of the connector, the load supporting member and the channelled post.
