Abstract

1425899 Brackets L KELLY 3 April 1973 15795/73 Heading A4B [Also in Divisions F2 and H2] A bracket for mounting electrical fittings, e.g. outlet boxes 28 or switch boxes, is formed from thin, bendable sheet metal and comprises two triangular plates 12, 14 having first edges 18 interconnected by a web 20 such that the plates 12, 14 may be bent towards or away from each other about their edges 18 and second corresponding edges 16 terminating in outwardly directed flanges 22, 24 for fixing to a wooden joist or like structural member, the plates 12, 14 and web 20 being provided with rows of spaced apertures 30 which are selectively utilized to secure the electrical fitting at any desired position on the bracket. In one application, Fig. 4, an outlet box 28 is secured to a pair of interfitting brackets in turn secured to and between a pair of joists.
