Abstract

1389507 Scaffolding jacks TOWER SCAFFOLDING (BRISTOL) Ltd 6 Sept 1973 41999/73 Heading B8J [Also in Division E1] A scaffolding prop comprises a base 10, an elongate tube 12 extending perpendicularly from the base 10 and having diametrically opposed locating holes 14 arranged in pairs at spaced intervals along its length, a sleeve 16 surrounding the tube 12 and slidable longitudinally thereof and a locking pin 18 movable between locked positions (e.g. as shown) in each of which it extends through a respective pair of locating holes 14 and an unlocked position in which it is withdrawn from the holes 14, Fig. 3 (not shown). The pin 18 is locked in position by a resilient clip 30 having restrictions formed by inwardly directed portions 32<SP>1</SP>, 34<SP>1</SP>, the clip 30 being resiliently deformed by the movement of the pin 18. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the pin can be locked both in position and out of position.
