Abstract

1389396 Mast foot fitting R ANTMAN 9 Oct 1973 [24 Oct 1972] 46999/73 Heading B7V A mast foot fitting enabling adjustment to be made of the position of the mast foot in the fore and aft direction along the hull of a boat, comprises a plate bent to form a bottom wall 2, two side walls 3 and an end wall 4, the upper parts of the side walls being bent to form inwardly concave guides 5 and the end wall provided with a hole centrally located between the side walls. A ring 7 shaped to receive the foot of a mast is located in the guides and connected to a screw threaded rod 8 which extends through the hole in the end wall. Locking nuts 9, 10 are provided on both sides of the end wall so that the position of the ring along the guides is adjustable. In the embodiment shown the end wall is bent over to form a double wall 4, 4a and nut 10 is in the form of a screw threaded hand wheel.
