Abstract

1388959 Spectacles H GUILLET and R LOUVET 11 Oct 1972 [18 Oct 1971 10 Nov 1971] 46823/72 Heading G2J [Also in Division E2] In an eye-glass or spectacle frame in which each lens 15 is mounted in a rim 11 having a radial slit 13, there are lateral extensions 12 provided with a bore 16 and grooves 17 each lens being clamped in a groove 14 by a screw 22 threaded into a sleeve 13 carried by a bar 20 on which the side-piece 18 is hinged. The screw has a frusto-conical inner face 23a which engages a corresponding face 17a of the grooves 17. In modifications, (a) a washer 25, Fig. 10, through which a screw 27 passes into the sleeve 13 has diametrically opposed wedge-shaped lugs 26 which engage in corresponding notches 24 on either side of the bore 16, or the washer 25, Fig. 11, carries oblique pins 28 which engage in holes 29 on either side of the bore; alternatively, the pins are mounted on the bar 20.
