Abstract

1388731 Washing machines INDUSTRIE A ZANUSSI SpA 24 May 1972 [28 May 1971] 24507/72 Heading D1A [Also in Division F4] The front end wall 11, with a loading aperture 15, the rear end wall 12 and the central cylindrical part 10 of a clothes washing machine or dryer are joined together adjacent large radius deep-drawn pressed portions 16, 21 or 29 (Fig. 3) of either the end walls or cylindrical portion. The mating edges are provided with perpendicular flanges 13 or 30, 31, 33 and 35. Preferably the central portion is connected to the front wall by welding and the rear wall by rivets 25 or 34 which also hold a spider 23 or 37 secured to a support shaft 20 or 38. The lifters 14 or 39 are integrally formed in the drum parts. The drum in Fig. 3 is intended for a dryer having apertures 26 for the ingress of heating air.
