Abstract

1403370 Washing machines PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 15 Sept 1972 [18 Sept 1971] 42907/72 Heading D1A In order to reduce oscillations of a tub 2 of a washing machine a lever 18 with a mass 24 at one end is pivoted to the cabinet 1 at the other end and to the tub at an intermediate part of the lever, the distance 'B' (Fig. 2) being greater than the distance 'A'. As shown the pivots are ball members 22 one of which is slidable on the lever which constitutes a conduit for balancing medium which is arranged to be deflected by a cylindrical edge of the drum 5 either into one or more hollow chambers/lifters 13 of the partly hollow walled drum 5 or into the bottom of the tub 2 as described more fully in Specification 1403369.
