Abstract

1388658 Hoists CARGOSPEED EQUIPMENT Ltd and J. G. BROWN 28 Feb 1972 [28 Nov 1970] 56637/70 Heading B8B Apparatus for raising and lowering a pallet or cage 10, comprises an overhead supported motor driven drum 12 rotatable about a substantially vertical axis, the drum having peripheral channels in each of which is anchored a cable 14a, 14b, 14c, 14d, which cables extend tangentially from the drum and over pulleys 15a, 15b, 15c, 15d, for connection to the cage 10 therebelow. The drum 12, drum driving motor 11 and the pulleys 15a, 15b, 15c, 15d are all mounted on an overhead support structure which may be traversable to traverse the cage 10 therewith. The motor 11 drives the drum 12 through either a worm and wheel mechanism Fig. 2 (not shown), or a cable 11b wound on a barrel 11a driven by the motor 11, the cable 11b extending to and being wound on the drum 12.
