Abstract

1388420 Boots &c SOC INDUSTRIELLE DU CAOUTCHOUC REGENERE 29 Feb 1972 [26 Aug 1971] 9391/72 Heading A3B [Also in Division B5] Metal inserts of magnetic material, such as the toe cap 3, are moulded into footwear by first locating them in the mould by means of magnets 2 which may be inserted into either the inner form of the mould, as shown, or into any part of the outer form. They may be flush with the mould wall, or projecting so that the part of the insert not contacting the magnet will be covered by injected material 5. Either permanent or electromagnets may be used. In the example a safety boot is injection moulded of polyvinylchloride 4, 4a and 5.
