Abstract

1387416 Injection moulding machines CAMERON-PRICE (MACHINES) Ltd 17 Aug 1972 [18 Aug 1971] 38706/71 Heading B5A A barrel 1 of an injection moulding machine is reclaimed when the bore has become worn, by cutting of the worn end part and substituting a new end piece 16 which is removably connected to the main part 1<SP>1</SP> of the barrel. The end piece 16 may include a separate or integral end cap 7 with a separate or integral nozzle 6. The end piece 16 and cap 7 have locating spigot portions 18, 23 and the parts are held together by bolts 27. The end piece 16 may be machined from solid metal; alternatively it may comprise a body (21) of sleeve form (Fig. 6, not shown) with a tubular liner (22). Annular grooves may be provided in the outer surface of the end piece to receive annular heating elements. Alternatively cartridge type heating elements (30) may be provided (Fig. 7, not shown), or a water jacket for liquid heating of the end piece.
