1387385 Hydrogenation catalyst NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT SINTETICHESKIKH SPIRTOV I ORGANICHESKIKH PRODUKTOV 9 April 1973 16905/ 73 Heading B1E [Also in Division C5] A catalyst for the hydrogenation of acetylene and diene impurities in monoolefin-containing feeds comprises a platinum group metal suspended in a liquid medium selected from saturated aliphatic alcohols, ketones and aldehydes and derivatives of monobasic fatty acids, the catalyst being maintained in the suspended state by the passage of the gaseous feed therethrough. Suitable liquid media are methanol, ethanol, propanol, acetone, butyraldehyde, ethyl acetone and dimethyl formamide. The catalyst which is preferably Pt or Pd may be supported on Al 2 O 3 , ZrO 2 or activated carbon.
