Abstract

1387049 Pressurized dispensing containers COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 26 July 1972 [12 Aug 1971] 34971/72 Heading F1R A valve actuator assembly comprises a cap for mounting on a valved pressurized dispenser and a discharge pattern selector moveable to bring one of a plurality of different discharge passages into actuating and discharge receiving relation to the valve stem. As shown the selector 44 is rotatable and axially slidable in a boss 43 in a cap 41 and comprises two different discharge passages formed in inserts 54 which by rotation of the selector may be brought into operative relation with the valve stem 12; it also includes a bore 53 which when aligned with the stem 12 prevents activation of the stem when the selector is depressed. The inserts are angularly located in the selector by ribs and grooves. The boss 43 is cut away at 50 to expose the operative insert outlet. In a second embodiment Fig.6 (not shown), the selector (44') has the passages formed directly therein and has a skirt partially enclosing cap 41. In a third embodiment, Fig.7 (not shown), the selector is similar to the first except that two passages are formed directly therein.
