Abstract

1,158,407. Spray producers. AEROSOL INVENTIONS & DEVELOPMENT S.A. 31 Oct., 1966 [24 Feb., 1966], No. 48657/66. Heading B2F. [Also in Division F1] The actuator button on the hollow stem of a reciprocating pump or a valve on a dispensing container has a blocking member connected thereto by a frangible web to impede depression of the stem until the blocking member is removed. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the blocking member is a ring-shaped skirt 40 connected to the button 10 by a frangible web 42. In the embodiment of Fig. 7, a plurality of lugs 90 connected to the actuator button 86 by webs 94 abut against the container shoulder and a pin 108 depending from the actuator top wall 106 and connected thereto by an annular web 116 abuts the valve mounting cup 114. The lugs 90 and pin 108 have to be broken away before the valve stem 96 can be depressed. Further embodiments of actuator buttons, Figs. 4 to 6 and 9 to 11 (not shown), on pressurised aerosol dispensing containers include a blocking skirt (76), Fig. 4, connected to the actuator by a plurality of narrow webs (78) and blocking pins (142), Fig. 9, (218), Fig. 10, connected to the actuators by frangible webs (144, 146, 224).
