Abstract

138,699. Fisker, P. A. Feb. 6, 1919. Clutches, arrangements and applications of. - Comprises a multi-plate clutch for motor-cycles in which the plates are compressed between a flange 4 on the driven shaft 3 and a cup-shaped member 9 by means of a spring 12 bearing against the member 9 and a flange 25 fixed to the driven shaft. The member 9 slides on pins 7, 8 connecting the flanges 4, 25, the latter of which rotates on the hub of the driving-member or fly-wheel 2. The clutch is released by means of a sliding rod 17, which, as it compresses the spring 12, moves the shaft 3 to the left and brings a disk 20 fixed thereto against a fixed braking-surface 21. The clutch is readily dismantled by pulling the shaft 3 away from the fly-wheel 2, both sets of plates coming away at the same time.
