Abstract

1386417 Regulating fluid-flow FAIREY FILTRATION Ltd 1 June 1973 [3rd March 1972] 10099/72 Headings G3H A device for tapping-off a fluid sample from a duct comprises a tubular body 10 containing a stack of discs 22 having spirally grooved faces and passages defining a labyrinth pressure reducing path for the tapped fluid flowing from inlet 14 to outlet 32. The discs are of phosphor bronze arranged in pairs 22a, 22b, the latter disc having a central through-passage 28 opening into a spiral groove 23 leading into a peripheral annular groove 27. A through-passage 26 in disc 22a connects groove 27 of disc 22b with a similar groove in disc 22a leading into a further spiral groove 23. The disc stack is held in position by an inner body 11 screwed into body 10. Covers 34, 31 shield inlet 14 and outlet 32 when the device is not in use. Dimensions of groove 27 &c. are specified.
