Abstract

1385995 Forming electrostatic images AGFA GEVAERT AG 25 Sept 1972 [25 Sept 1971] 44135/72 Heading G2H [Also in Division H I ] An electrostatic latent image is produced on a moving recording material 10 by a corona discharge which originates from an electrode 1, in an atmosphere of hydrogen, nitrogen, or a noble gas, and is modulated by electrical signals applied to a series of control electrodes 6, 6' spaced along a slit 7. The material 10 passes over a shaped counter electrode 8. Preferably each control electrode comprises electrically conductive layers either side of an insulating substrate, and one of the conductive layers is divided into strips extending at right angles to the slit 7.
